June Fire Element Horoscope

For thousands of years, the I Ching has guided decisions about our health, relationships, financial matters, work, and play. Predictions from the I Ching follow the lunar year and are based on multiple, overlapping cycles that govern the heavens and the earth. A variety of stems, branches, directions, and phases also have their say, each creating a trail of clues and possibilities, so let us begin …

In the Chinese horoscope, June is the fifth lunar month in a phase called wǔ . This phase is a time of maximum Fire energy, so it is no surprise that the longest day of sunlight occurs on June 21st. Dragons, the Fire Element and the solstice, are all related―they embody activity, brightness, sunshine, daylight, and heat―all apt descriptions of wǔ.

The name June dates back to Roman times when Juno the goddess of love married Jupiter, the god of light and the sky. June is the traditional month for weddings in this country, and any date works nicely for western brides, but Chinese brides prefer to plan their weddings on auspicious days that end in the lucky numbers 8 or 9 or add up to an 8 or a 9, like June 17 or June 27.

June’s luxuriant Fire influence is a constructive, creative, and positive force that creates many possibilities for development and success. Remember too that Fire can also burn and consume, so we must channel this energy wisely. In the meantime, be on the lookout for interesting new possibilities during this entire month―who knows what exciting things might happen!

Physical Health

To preserve your present level of physical fitness, you need to continue to exercise, but do it early in the day before it gets too hot. Preserve your fluid balance by drinking plenty of water and take an occasional break in the shade. Wear a hat and dark glasses, and if your sunscreen is a year or two old, treat yourself to a brand-new tube. Now get out there and have fun!

June’s double Fire energy has the potential to overwhelm and wear you out. Protect your mental health by taking some time off. When you are tired, and your energy is frayed, you aren’t having any fun, and you probably aren’t much fun to be around. A vacay or a stay-cay can help you feel more relaxed…it will make you feel better and help you regain your joy―your natural exuberance.

Relationships Health

Oh my, June’s energy is intense and tends to stimulate conflict. Misunderstandings and hurt feelings abound, and when it is hot or humid, things can get even testier. It’s fine to reveal your feelings and expectations but do your best to let go of unrealistic expectations. Stimulate the flow of love but cultivating tolerance and forgiveness both for yourself and others.

If you don’t already have a plan, use June’s rampant Fire to provide the oomph for creating one now.
