For thousands of years the I Ching has provided guidance for people's health decisions, relationships, financial matters, work and play. Predictions from the I Ching follow the lunar year and are based on the cycles of the heavens and the earth. Further influences include the Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water; the effect of yin and yang and the forces exerted by a variety of stems, branches, directions and phases.
March is a month of transition. In China, Jing Zhe or The Waking of Insects and The Awakening of Hibernating Animals will be observed on March 5. In the west we will also catch a glimpse of winter sliding into spring: Purim has already begun, Daylight Saving Time starts on March 11, Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated on the 17th, and winter officially ends on the 20th.
In March, the Wood Element continues to provide forward-moving energy to will kick off new possibilities. Look for exciting developments to explore and expand upon, but remember that you’re going to need to keep up your own forward-moving motivation as some of the quieter, calmer Elements begin to exert their influence during the remainder of the year.
New opportunities are entirely possible in this forward-moving mǎo phase of Chinese year of the Dog, 4716 … hang on to your hat!
Too little sleep can cause memory problems and depression, increase the sensation of pain and weaken the immune system which increases the chances of becoming ill. Do you share your private life? Most Water types do not find that idea appealing. If you prefer to lie low and not get too involved in your own feelings, you will find it inordinately tempting to turn to digital devices rather than engage with other humans. Seek long-term relationships that encourage intimacy, with people who nurture your ability to share.
While Water people are usually very observant of other people’s behavior, they may have a hard time knowing what they really want. You may find it more comfortable to adjust to situations that were created by others than make decisions yourself. Yours is the wisest of all the Elements, so if that works for you, it is absolutely fine.
You probably prefer the status quo, and find it difficult to make new financial decisions. As long as the financial decisions you made in the past were sound, there is no need to stress yourself by taking drastic action. If you realize that you need to make adjustments, you will probably feel more confident if you engage an expert.
Back to that old status quo issue; even though you may be less than thrilled with your current job, you are likely to hang on rather than institute a change. Most Water people enjoy reading, so even though you may not know exactly what career you might enjoy, see if you can find some reading material that could inspire you to make a change.
